Happy New Year to our members and friends. I hope you all had some time off and have time to reunite with family and loved ones.
The January Issue of the FAPAC Newsletter is out. Request a copy at firstname.lastname@example.org. The publication has been critical in connecting to our members and community. Feel free to distribute for advising some of the activities we are engaged in. If you have a story, please send in your piece before March 15 for the April Issue.
FAPAC was at the installation of Katherine Archuleta, the Tenth OPM Director. We found the new Director very committed to diversity and look forward to our continue relationship with OPM in furthering our work.
The Conference Committee is continuing its work and is prepared for a visit with the community at Charlotte to work out the logistics and outreach with media and other AAPI there. We will visit the Mayor’s office to invite him and solicit the support of other officials. The National Guard Bureau will be assisting us in getting the student attendance. We will continue to work with the Department of Veterans Affairs to increase veteran participation. Recently FAPAC has formed a Business Advisory Partnership (BAP) who would be assisting in the Government Business Forum. If you are interested in being part of it please drop a note to email@example.com.
A Holiday Event is being set for January 12 and we look forward to see many of you that are able to attend. Please register so we can get a head count.
I will be appointing a committee to help celebrate FAPAC’s 30th Anniversary in Washington, during the 2015 National Training Program. One of the project is write a history of FAPAC to help to publicize some of the past events and accomplishments. My interest in history has energized me to collect information on the conference sites, themes and award winners of FAPAC past but I have many gaps. If you can help, drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The FAPAC Mentoring Program is starting its second class. The kickoff will be January 30.
The next One Day Workshop will take place on March 7 at HHS. Visit the website for further update.
If you are not a member or have not renewed your membership, you can do so on-line at www.fapac.org at the price of a cup of coffee a month. Being an active member you can extend your network and reap the benefit of being part of a growing organization.
