After a snowy winter Washington finally is heading for spring. FAPAC is also heading into a period of cautious optimism. In light of the current budget we are seeing the National Training Program to be held May 5-8 in Charlotte, NC taking shape. OPM has finally sent out the letter to CHCO’s in all agencies recognizing the FAPAC program worthy of support. The NTP Planning Group is making the final touches for the program to go to the printer. The planning team will visit Charlotte next week to meet with agency, college and community contacts to ensure the outreach to student and veterans. If you have not signed up do so before the early discount on registration expires. Also you need to make the reservation with the hotel while they still honor the government rate on our room block.
The second One Day Workshop took place on March 7 at HHS with 100 attendees in person as well as additional participation through Adobe Connect. The last one in the series this year will be June 6. Visit the website for the announcement and registration.
The Challenge Team Pilot is wrapping up with the submission of the final report. Finding will be reported to the White House Initiative on AAPI Interagency Working Group in May. Team representatives will also be conducting a briefing at the National Training Program in Charlotte.
FAPAC has been successful in reaching out to agencies and after some efforts we are ready to sign a MOU with NIH to mutually support each other in our missions.
The Business Advisory Partnership (BAP) reached its milestone of ten Founding Members. The group is in the process of setting up the by-laws and programs to provide advice and support to FAPAC in its mission to promote equal opportunity and diversity in the federal and District of Columbia governments.
FAPAC will be participating in several diversity events at different agencies. If you are available visit us to join or just reconnect. If you are not a member or have not renewed your membership, you can do so on-line at www.fapac.org for $36/year.
