As we welcome the New Year, and as I begin my reflection on 2016, we successfully completed the 1st Quarter of FY2017. I want to thank each of you for your time and energy in helping make the FAPAC organization very successful and productive in the last 3 months. We wouldn’t accomplish a lot and be where we are today without your total commitment, dedication and professionalism. Thank you for volunteering and serving our Organization and its Members so well throughout this first quarter!
October 2016, first month was an especially exciting one. The Vice President for Operations solicited Committee Chairs and recruitment to be completed by the end of the Oct 2016; newly elected officers were inducted at the National Press Club (click link page); first NBOD meeting conducted right after the installation; FAPAC Officers met with four (4) different Agencies to discuss the possibility of forming a new FAPAC Chapter in their Agency; Community Outreach Committee conducted Career Fair planning meeting; and the President joined the NCEP monthly meetings via teleconference.
November 2016, second month was busy, by the recommendations of the Vice President for Operations, the President appointed all the Committee Chairs (click link page); the Vice President reviewed all the FAPAC MOUs with different Agencies and scheduled future meetings to meet with multiple Agencies to discuss continuous partnerships and sponsorships; Conference Planning Committee kicked-off the 2017 National Leadership Training Program planning meeting at Rockville Hilton in Maryland (click link page); and Outreach Committee Members held a very successful Federal Employment Career Fair that was attended by over 30+ Agencies, was held at the Washington Adventist University, Takoma Park, Maryland (click link page);
December 2016 third month was very hectic, as we celebrate the Holidays, our dedicated volunteers continuous to pursue great things for FAPAC. Webmaster Team launched the new look/logo of FAPAC on our website; the Newsletter Committee Chair released her 1st bi-monthly Newsletter (click link page); the Program Committee kickoff the 2017 Mentoring Program planning, while the 2016 Mentoring Program concluded end of Dec with 18 candidates graduating the program; the Constitution and Bylaws Committee kickoff the planning meeting to amend the C&B, planned for release by the second quarter of the FY2017; Chapter Committee Chair held meetings and continuously working with the Regional Directors to form new Chapters; the President and Vice President met with the USDA high level management few days before Christmas and received sponsorship commitment for the May 2017 event; and the FAPAC 2017 NLTP Theme “Unite Our Voices by Speaking Together” for Heritage Month was released for Agencies to use (click link page).
Overall, FAPAC Members and Committee Chairs worked together as a team to ensure that we continue to promote equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion and to serve the Federal and DC Governments and the Communities. Everyone did their part to make the 1st Quarter of the FY2017 a success, and everyone can feel justifiable pride in the outcomes and to be a proud member of this premiere organization!!
