Ms. Fahmida Chhipa currently serves as the President of the Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) and its National Board of Directors. Since joining in FAPAC in 2012, Ms. Chhipa has served in various capacities. She is the recipient of the FAPAC’s 2015 Outstanding Individual Leadership Award and has served as FAPAC’s National Vice President, Vice President of Operations, and Executive Secretary. She has been the President of the Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) FAPAC Chapter and currently serves as an Advisor.
Ms. Chhipa is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Specialist at the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). She manages and guides all Special Emphasis Programs (SEP) Managers, conducts Civil Rights Assistant Staff Visits/compliance reviews, and organizes and hosts EEO/Civil Rights, DEIA, SEP, and Leadership training at NASS. Additionally, Ms. Chhipa contributes to the USDA’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA), Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey, (FEVS), and Employee Health & Wellness Working Groups, to name a few. Ms. Chhipa studied Biology at George Mason University but has interestingly landed her career in the Civil Rights. She is completing her studies in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management. Ms. Chhipa has received her Diversity and Inclusion Certification from eCornell University, Workplace Mediation Certificate from The Alternative Dispute Resolution Academy, and Special Emphasis Program Manager Certification from the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute.
Born in India and raised in Northern Virginia where she has lived for over 40 years, Ms. Chhipa is happily married and a proud mother of three adult boys.
