Navigating the hiring process June 20-USAID

June 09, 2021 13:05 | Kin Wong (Administrator)

Navigating the hiring process for positions in the U.S. Government can be quite daunting. The U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) is expanding our team, and we want to show you how to join us!  From understanding the different hiring mechanisms and application processes to resume tips, we want to demystify every step of the BHA hiring process.

BHA leads and coordinates the U.S. Government’s disaster assistance efforts overseas and responds to an average of 75 disasters in more than 70 countries each year reaching populations affected by natural disasters, including hurricanes, earthquakes, and volcano eruptions, as well as man-made disasters, such as war and conflict. The work that we do is challenging, exciting, and saves lives.

BHA employees are deployed around the world helping people and monitoring programs, and BHA provides employees training and career development opportunities, and more recently, the option to work remotely from home. BHA employs a wide variety of staff with diverse experiences, expertise, and educational backgrounds.

Currently, we have over 100 vacancies we are seeking to fill. These positions range from entry to mid-level roles in the humanitarian/disaster response, accounting, communications, and information technology sector.

We invite you to join us on June 20, 2021, at 12:30 pm EST for our Getting Hired event. In this program, you will learn from our HR professionals and current humanitarian professionals details and insight regarding BHA’s
