Subject: Outreach notice: GS 7/9 Public Affairs Specialist, Siuslaw National Forest

Hi folks,

Please find attached the outreach notice for a GS 7/9 Public Affairs Specialist (1035) position on the Siuslaw National Forest. The duty station is the cute town of Waldport on the beautiful Oregon Coast or the lovely college town of Corvallis in the Willamette Valley. Regardless of duty station, this position covers the entire forest.

The Siuslaw is well known for its successful collaborative restoration program and has a robust recreation program on the coast. One of only two national forests that boast coastal real estate, the Siuslaw encompasses sand dunes, temperate rain forest, rugged coastal headlands, excellent tide pooling, rare meadows, and lots of other great stuff. Wonderful colleagues, great partners, cool place to live.

Given the current uncertainty over how or when we’ll be able to fill the position permanently, we’re outreaching to determine who might be interested or available for a short or longer-term assignment (detail, temporary promotion, lateral reassignment etc.) so we can identify the right approach consistent with our authorities at the time. Even if you responded to the original outreach notice about this position in 2016, if you are still interested, please send another response.

If you are interested in this position please complete the attached Outreach Response Form and return it to Lisa Romano, Public Affairs Staff Officer, at, no later than July 21, 2017. The notice can also be found posted in the outreach database:
