Let’s all take a moment and pause and enjoy this beautiful time of the year. Put down your cell phones and other devices. Are you missing important moments with your families, relatives and friends? Have you taken a good look at your growing children? They change so quickly. It may seem that they are always around, but there will come a day when they head out in the world and may not come home again to live. Have you noticed how your parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives are getting older? Our time is limited. Are the messages you are receiving on your devices really that important that you are missing out on the best part of your life with your family and friends?
The Thanksgiving holiday is a time to take just a few moments to appreciate how lucky we are in our present lives. We have our families. The recent natural disasters have highlighted how quickly our material possessions can disappear. Wildfires can burn our homes and destroy all our possessions. Hurricanes can flood and blow away our residences. If you are about to sit down to a festive meal, remember that in a moment lives can change. Take stock in everyone and everything around you. Savor the people and nourishing food you have in front of you. This is about counting your blessings and telling the people you love how much they mean to you. Life can be unpredictable. Live in and enjoy the moment.
