FAPAC SCHOLARSHIP FUND ANNOUNCES 2014 AWARD

  

WASHINGTON - The Federal Asian Pacific American Council (FAPAC) Scholarship Endowment Fund is proud to announce the selection of Mary June Flores for the 2014 Distinguished Public Service Scholarship.  This year’s award is given under the FAPAC Scholarship Fund in honor of Secretary Norman Mineta who has been a trailblazer,  breaking ceilings of all types,  and has unselfishly giving back nurturing many of new leaders who came after him.

The award will be presented on May 8, 2014 in Charlotte, NC during the FAPAC National Leadership Training Program. The awardee will receive a stipend of $5,000 towards her education.

The FAPAC Distinguished Scholarship for Public Service is given out each year, on a rotational basis, in honor of Secretary Elaine L. Chao, Secretary Norman Y. Mineta and the late Congressman Dalip Singh Saund, represented three of the best of the Asian Pacific American leaders. Next year the award will be given out in honor of former Secretary Elaine L. Chao.

The FAPAC Distinguished Public Service Scholarship Endowment Fund, Inc. is a non-profit organization that promotes the recognition of Asian Pacific American students who is interested in public service and has made contributions to foster diversity and inclusion in the Asian and Pacific American community.

FAPAC is a 501 (c)(3) nonpartisan, nonprofit organization representing the civilian and military Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) employees in the Federal and District of Columbia governments.
