    Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Classification)

The position is located in Washington, DC within the Office of the Chief Component Human Capital Officer (OCCHCO), Management and Organization Division, Position Management & Classification Branch. 

     

    The ideal candidate leads a group of employees in the application of human resources management rules, regulations, and policies applicable to Federal Classification. This position starts at a salary of $114,590 (GS-14). 

     

    Position Responsibilities

    ·        Serving as a supervisor responsible for the administration of position classification; planning, directing, and coordinating the work of specialist, technical, and administrative support personnel engaged in carrying out the various functions in the designated program areas of the assigned area.

    ·        Conducting continuing evaluations of the effectiveness and adequacy of programs, operations, work methods, and techniques.

    ·        Advising the Division Chief on the implications and feasibility of program plans, proposals, and recommendations; collaborating with the Division Chief on the formulation of short and long range Division plans, goals, and objectives.

    ·        Identifying issues, initiatives and coordinating research, and preparing/reviewing position papers, memoranda, and other materials.

    ·        Participating in meetings with other management officials to discuss major program changes, reorganizations, budget projections, and staffing and equipment needs, and preparing justifications.

     

    Knowledge and/or Experience Required

    ·        Applying a wide range of human resources management rules, regulations, and policies applicable to federal position management and classification;

    ·        Providing input on a wide range of modified, new, or proposed classification policies;

    ·        Consulting with management officials on position management and the delivery of classification services; and

    ·        Demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience that involves planning work to be accomplished for a group of employees engaged in position management and classification work.
